After you upgrade to a prerelease (beta) version of Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), After Effects CS6 or After Effects CC doesn't launch.
To update After Effects CS6 or After Effects CC to the most recent version for Mac OS X compatibility, choose Help > Updates, or you can manually download the update version you need.

Adobe strongly recommends that customers update to the latest version of the application (CC 2019) release prior to updating to macOS 10.14 Mojave. Older versions of the application were not designed, nor extensively tested to run on macOS Mojave. After Effects attempts to take control of Finder
When you launch After Effects for the first time, an OS dialog opens, asking to control the finder, 'Adobe After Effects CC 2018” would like to control the application “Finder”.
The issue does not occur on subsequent launches.
